![]() Instead, be strong and courageous to face whatever comes our way head-on. Joshua instructs his people that they shouldn’t turn to the right or left. We spend a lot of our time figuring out how to avoid troubles, which is impossible. When we run into difficult circumstances, our first reaction is to avoid them. “Only be strong and very courageous be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go.” We can experience the joy that strengthens us and empowers us to live a Godly life. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, so his joy is the same, regardless of our circumstances. Nehemiah reminds the people that their sorrow is making them weak and vulnerable. When they hear the expectations of the law and compare it to their life, they start weeping. In Nehemiah 8, there’s a group of people listening to the Law of God. Have you ever been working on something and felt discouraged due to a lack of progress? You’re working hard every day, but it feels futile. “Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Our love needs to impact the world around us and people should be blessed because of our actions. ![]() The love you have for God can’t be only a private matter. When we use our strength to love, it’s seen and felt by others. We can have love in our hearts and soul, and no one would know. Loving the Lord with all your strength means loving with our actions. Our heart and soul are within us and unseen by others, but our strength is in the public eye. What does it mean to love the Lord with all of your strength? God gives us physical, mental, and spiritual strength for a purpose-to accomplish a variety of things in our life. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” When you’re strong, you are equipped to see who’s knocked down and help them back up. It’s your responsibility to use your strength to help them. You probably know people that lost their job, have family problems, or are struggling with sickness. Keep in mind that not everyone is experiencing the same thing. There’s nothing wrong with that, and you shouldn’t feel bad about it. Your family, job, and friendships are all strong and healthy, and you feel unstoppable. This doesn’t negate our responsibility to make wise decisions and stay out of trouble, but it removes the pressure and feeling that we need to do everything independently. God sees all of our weaknesses and gives us access to the riches of His eternal strength. By faith, we can be strengthened in Christ and in His grace. The good news is that we don’t need to be strong in our own power and abilities. “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.” Paul wants believers to be steadfast in hope and be courageous no matter what we face. Circumstances can cause us to doubt God and ourselves, and then we shrink back and become weak. We’re likely going to run into things that can make us unstable in our faith. He doesn’t say that we should sit back and relax because everything will work itself out. ![]() In this passage, Paul is telling the church that they are called be on guard and aware of what’s happening. “Be on your guard stand firm in the faith be courageous be strong.” When we look to our future we can have peace and trust that God is our fortress and shield protecting us from evil. Instead of being afraid, we can praise in the midst of a storm.Įven in the middle of hardships we can have an everlasting hope because God is with us. Everything we need is found in God-He is our salvation, our refuge, and our rock.
